Luana Carothers: I've already looked at the minimum requirements and I already exceed them. I know theres going to be more PT than just whats on that list. I want to be as prepared as possible because I intend on graduating top of the class
Toney Flaten: I'm really just looking for something in general to use to prepare. I'm already doing everything thats on the Physical Fitness minimum standards list, but I feel like theirs gonna be more.
Rachell Meese: The actual standards may vary between departments, so I doubt there is a book or DVD that would cover everything. The academy will gladly show you their fitness standards. All you need to do is practice what they test you on, along with a general work out routine.
Libby Berkovitch: contact the academy. most have guides that they hand out or info on their websites that have the minimum requirements and tips on how to preparephysical testing-wise there shouldnt be much to expect for hiring criteria.. ! prepare yourself so that you can easily exceed the minimum requirements and give your all when testing and you shouldnt have any problemsif concerned that there will be additional pt during the testing process ask the admin at the agency that you are testing with and they will let you know. at the academy if you want to be top of the class you will also need smarts (there is class work and tests) you will also need alot of general strength, endurance, and stamina. work on sit-ups, push ups, pull ups, flexibilty in legs in lower body and cardio (you will need to run long and fast) each and every department has different ways of testing so if you are worried about suprises just keep training and be prepared for anything...... if you want in this line of work there are going to be a lot of things that you will just have to be prepared for at any given time with warning or prep.most of th pt tests are fairly simple and short... not much to them. dont spaz because it looks ! simple and you think they are gonna throw a shocker at you. m! ost places are concerned that you can do the state requirements before they hire you, but still give it your all...Show more
