Teaching abroad?

Randolph Lozoya: Are you talking about teaching KIDS in SCHOOLS or ADULTS from LANGUAGE SCHOOLS. It makes a BIG difference on the information you require. As for the basics, with the exception of Scotland ,who do NOT need English teachers anyway, the rest you will require some LOCAL language knowledge. Reason if your students do not understand something you say in English you need to be able to explain it in THEIR language.ESL or TESOL do NOT count as teaching experience as that is teacher TRAINING. You get experience ON THE JOB with those courses. So any job offer that requires 2 years experience is 2 years of TEACHING and all that AFTER your training.ADD more details and I will check back and answer the rest....Show more

Lissette Semon: I'd recommend getting a Bachelors in Education if you would like to teach abroad, or anywhere! Many schools look for licensed teachers with these degrees, even if you want to just teach English. To supplement that, a TEFL certificat! e could help you find an English teaching position. You can check out our job board and different job postings to see the different requirements for teaching positions.

Todd Stogner: Also, what would be the best thing to major in? I would like to major in Education but if there is something that would be better, I would like to know.
