It would become smooshed and useless in less than a week. Maybe something with thick rubber bristles like the dog toothbrushes (sorry for the analogy) so they don't get ruined as quickly. Also, I like to see the curved, thick handle and those are hard to find anymore.For a school aged child... if you can design a toothbrush that rinses itself off, puts itself away, and wipes the excess toothpaste out of the sink that would be great!!!...
