Why are video games considered immature?

Rebeca Mckin: For John, my dad is 42 and he's responsible yet is still into video games.

Mee Blumenfeld: There considered immature because some of then have drugs or strip clubs etc. For example Grand Theft Auto.

Refugio Gastineau: I guess people think that video games are for young people. But what about "M" for Mature games for 17+ and 18+ years people, they have guns, drugs, drinking, sexual themes, and some strong language in those games. People who say that video games are for young/immature people know nothing about video games and have never given any chance to pick up a game that could be really fun and interesting for them. Who cares that your 50-something years old and still playing video games, that will be cool to me. People who say "Oh! Your so immature for playing video games. Video games are for young people!" They are just being uptight old-farts....Show more

Silvia Stclair: this is because lots of people are ignorant.i have been gaming f! or 35 years now.i am 50 and my father who plays video games is 72.we both work,we both pay our bills and yes we both like to have fun,so i guess that makes us immature.let the people who say this go to all of the elderly centers that they put wii systems in and tell them how immature they are for playing video games and having fun.hope this helps.

Hugo Pittari: that's what the adults think, cause in their chilhood, there were very less video games, and the ones there were were kiddish, so that's what's in their mind since childhood.

Isaias Badgley: Put it this way... Do you know any perfectly normal/responsible 35 year old man he is really into videogames?

Delphine Cajka: Anyone who believes that is ignorant. I could say that because a person is a socialite, they're immature because they're so one-dimensional. There's the same absence of a logical connection."Games" generally has a connotation of something childish. Sports are games too, but NFL players ar! en't regarded as immature. I find that people generally just s! hoot it down because they fail to see anything productive in playing video games, which just furthers their ignorance....Show more

Frederick Mccoach: It is not childish at all. Look at it this way, what else would you be doing setting in front of the tv doing nothing. Playing video games helps hand-eye cordination and it keep your competative edge up.
