Hobby Shops on military bases?

Rosalia Hibler: Its part of MWR (moral welfare and recreation) they do have hobby shops, you basically pay for materials.used.thinks like pottery, framing, car repair, stuff like that.

Eva Lichlyter: At some of the bigger bases,, especially in the US, they do have recreation centers, which may include hobby shops. It's been so lkong since I've been near one, I've forgotten what sorts of accommodations they may have. I'm pretty sure that they charge for any materials you may use, but often at a lower price than off-base.

Mel Crapo: reduced cost. the one here at Meade is pretty nice.. ceramics, wood working, picture framing... Most bases also have a do it yourself car garage with equipment you can rent to change your oil or do other simple maintenance.

Barton Sease: I'm retired DOD Army civilian , I keep my boat in a military marina and that base allows me access to the the commissary/BX ect, On a recent trip I stopped in at another installation and ! told, Nope you cant buy in the PX? whats up? do different installations have different rules?

Salvatore Walls: Yes, all bases have various hobby shops. For the auto one, you pay a small fee to use a bay, where you can do your own work (they have the tools for your to use) or pay someone to do it for you. Here are some examples from my base, Peterson AFB:http://www.21fss.com/inside.php?page=activitieshttp://www.21fss.com/inside.php?page=autothe links on the right have all the info you may need. Need information for a base in particular?...Show more

Olin Hallin: It depends on the class some will be for free and some will be at a reduced rate. The Hobby shop will have anything you might ask for if they don't have it right now then they will possibly get it.
