economics question on environment?

Spencer Heidtbrink: Concern for the environment is a social concern. If a society is concerned about it, they may decide to impose regulations on private industries. They may also decide to boycott industries that are not environmentally friendly and promote those that are. If this boycott is successful, the company will likely change their practices. Companies know that they have to satisfy their customers and try to supply products to customers that they want.
