Roosevelt Pendill: Pursuing profit, status, and monetary gain.
Lauri Ohl: I am attracted to outer beauty. Very rarely do I find inner beauty in girls because they are so full of outer beauty.
Catheryn Barringer: You (and a lot of other people) misquote the verse which can be found by going to 1 Tim. 6:10 in a Bible. It says: "For the LOVE of money is a root of all KINDS of evil."Those extra words make a difference....Show more
Luana Carothers: OK Le'me first answer the q above. Smartness to me is making mistakes and turning it for u and not against u. What, what? So it was a super asset to me when I went to metros coz kidos out there thot they could outsmart me but they got my thumbs down. To those who think that ignorance is not a bliss, I think for me to remain aware but act ignorant really worked blissful for me with the over smarties. Like they talked about and did things and when they came told me I heard it all, to my horror of horrors and they ha! d a good laugh seeing the expression on my face calling me names like angel, and simpleton etc.. which I secretly enjoyed and then when their secret gets bombed and when they run to me for help I take a deep breath and tell them its better to be an angel than smarties like u, and I give a flying kiss!! That's what I call being real smart. What say u? So my smartness was and is an asset and I work it carefully to my advantage....Show more
Jen Maday: Wishing that one were not so smart implies one thinks one is too smart... one who thinks one is too smart, in my opinion, displays lack of smartness... a really smart person should neither be displeased for lack of smartness nor be regretting any excess smartness...... it is as simple as that... the very definition of true smartness precludes those type of thoughts or ideas. Ignorance is certainly no bliss... it can only be an illusion of bliss for the time being. True bliss lies in truth and knowledge. The less than smart ! people who look so satisfied and alright from a distance, are ! in fact merely making the best out of a temporary advantage, unaware that in due course of time, the lack of smartness would necessarily bear the unbearably damaging and hurtful fruits for sure....Show more

Kirk Coolbeth: Smartness and ! being good at philosophy isn't the same thing, it just makes it a lot easier to voice your opinion!! *laughs*When I was younger I hated being smarter, but now I embrace it and use it to help my friends, they know I'm clever but not obnoxious with it so they can still act the same...I don't find myself looking down on anyone, and I certainly don't do different things, I'm just an ordinary teenager who just thinks slightly differently, it doesn't mean I have to act the same! Are you seriously telling me that you don't make stupid decisions? God, you must be really really really smart, and really bored, as everyone makes mistakes (even superman, so my mother reminds me constantly). Many afternoons I'm locked out of my house because I've forgotten my keys and I forget everything and I do make stupid decisions, but that's not because I'm dumb, it's because i've got other things on my mind!...Show more

Elvin Weichbrodt: Selfishness is the root of most evil. This is an unhealthy desire to attain and keep to ones self these items that are perceived to symbolize extravagance to overcompensate ones perceived socioeconomic status. when we decide our wants are more important than the needs of anyone else. Coleen Carignan: "nobody can think outside of their own box", but everybody's box is different. Hu! mans are separated by nature purely by the fact that we have the abilities of free will, but humans are animals, which many often forget. We have similar innate patterns of actions and reflexes that is inherit in "nature". So, because humans have these characteristics, we all make mistakes. This occurs frequently enough that many are unaware of these mistakes. The feeling of "happiness" does not come with how much you know, but how much you understand. If you could understand the prime question, "why?" you could understand just about anything, from any perspective. That, in turn, would help you understand the reasoning behind the music, movies, and the people that you have mentioned....Show more
Rayford Speziale: Inner beauty is more important to me, than anything. I have dated some guys that not many people would find a true outer beauty. Wilburn Denice: Nah the better truism is EVIL IS THE ROOT OF ALL MONEY!But the others do make a good point that people can still be pretty evil on the barter system (but not so much on the honor system, it just encourages dikish behaviour).
Woodrow Neyman: As they say ignorance is bliss. I used to be highly intelligent when I was young. Really young. About all of 4-6th grade And regardless of how smart I was, society(when I began to get into middle school) made me question how happy my intelligence made me. So I changed my self 100%, got into the wrong crowds, became more violent, did drugs on a daily basis, for 4 years straight And was on ! a downward spiral. I was sick, pale ,tired, weak and everything you can imagine. And suddenly I realized, although it sounds naive, I found that just as much as my intelligence made me unhappy, It would also save my life. Im back as close to, the person that I used to be, and my lifeâs quest for happiness made me realize that being smart never seems to never go away. Im not as smart as I was, but no matter what I still have my head on my shoulders. So what your more analytical, who cares, it usually tends to be those people who make it big, because they are almost never clueless. So enjoy your smart brain, its honestly a gift, never change your self, be a little more âlooseâ and your friends will honestly love you for who you are, and youâll still remain the smart cookie you are....Show more
Forest Duttinger: Outer beauty catches the eye, but inner beauty comes with time by knowing that person & it stays as long as that person is alive, even after that person! dies u will always remember their inner beauty. Lia Argall: i mean this is not to claim that you are better than others, its just that when you start learning about philosophy it gets harder and harder to have the same interests with most people, its getting harder and harder to enjoy the movies you watch, the songs you listen too, because in a way you are always searching for the beyondness of things, i mean there are times when i have wished that i wasnt this critical, that i could just be like my friends who do stupid things and just regret them later, rather than be this cautious, reasonable being that i man? have you ever felt this way...Show more

Cristopher Gavalis: I agree with you totally, Troy, about the initial attraction of outter beauty. If you love someone's flesh but not their mind and soul, it is very hard to find happiness
Brock Anwar: Your quote on money is not accurate. The full quote is "The love of money is the root of all evil."
Kaley Lappas: I agree with you completely. As you age, your looks fade. But your inner beauty will never dissapear.Ever hear that 60's song that goes "If you want to be happy for the rest of you life find yourself an ugly ! wife" ?
Alden Sabio: Logic 101 was the only class in college that! I scored over 100 points in... I loved it. But, so many times people tell me not to think so much or that I think too much or that I over analyze, but that is my nature. Sometimes, I do believe that 'ignorance is bliss' and that it's 'lonely at the top', but I try to also take care and not let one of my strengths overtake me and become then one of my weaknesses, sometimes, I just need to let things be... like the Beatles song... Those lyrics help me sometimes. Yes, it is hard to watch people harm themselves because they don't think things through. I feel that way about drugs... Drugs... Why would anyone start? If you try it and like it, you're basically screwed because now you will probably do it again and most likely become addicted risking losing loved ones, job, life etc... If you try it and don't like it, then what a waste of time and you are just back where you started, so why did you even bother? Kenneth Thuesen: Angel: Chimps? Leave Mr Bush outta this ;)
Houston Venezia: I have seen this scripture misquoted so many times it really is almost funny. It is the LOVE of MONEY that is the root of all evil, not money it self.U can be poor & love money more than ur own family, u can go out & kill dozens of people because u want their money.Money as u said is only paper, I will go one more, money is coins too, but what would it be worth to u to gain the whole world & lose ur soul? The love of money blinds justice, it ends friendships, it causes people to act like savages, but most of all it leaves love out in the cold....Show more

Madie Strople: Money is a medium of exchange.Real money is e.g. gold. Fiat currency, unbacked by something of value for which you can exchange it, is something practiced by the Federal Reserve, which is neither Federal nor a reserve, but a consortium of private banks. This stewardship presents a conflict of interest, in which e.g. since 2000 the U.S. dollar, a fiat currency, has lost about ! 40% of its purchasing power, as the Fed has placed hundreds of billions! of dollars into circulation, with no particular tie to productivity. This has kept the stock market artificially high, and profited the banks, who earn interest on the money they create, by loaning it to others.Further, the banks lobbied the U.S. Congress in the early 2000s period, when accounting transparency laws were being written in response to e.g. Enron accounting coverups, to exempt banks from such accounting. Why, if nothing to cover up? Since then, SIV ("structured investment vehicles") and other such instruments have been developed, of which the subprime loan debacle is but a fraction of the worthless paper written, and then resold to other banks around the world, as supposedly profitable. This debacle in turn has caused a major lessening of interbank lending, which is slowing the economy downstream. Many major banks have taken tremendous losses, e.g. Citibank, one of the largest banks in the world. So, while the mediums of exchange are not the problem, avarice! , as noted in John Perkins' "economic hitman" books, is a major problem.A classic book on the Fed is "The Creature from Jekyll Island," G. But pain is part of the journey. If you find yourself becoming too critical of others or drifting too far into the abstract, it is probably because you don't have an outlet to express your own gifts. You do not need the things your friends need just bc they say you need them.A lot of times the people you are criticizing are probably not as dumb as they act, but they are programmed to fit in. We all want to fit in, b! ut don't sacrifice your gift for acceptance.Find something you love or ! that you think you might be interested in and direct your smarts toward that.
